Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin
Guided fishing in Lake Tomahawk.
Lake Tomahawk sits between Minocqua and Rhinelander, which is the water Heindls Fishtails is built around. Jason and Ashley Heindl guide the lakes through that corridor, and they also fish Woodruff, Arbor Vitae, Hazelhurst, Three Lakes, Eagle River, St. Germain, and Boulder Junction.
Choose a half day, a six-hour trip, or a full eight-hour day. Open water covers musky, walleye, northern pike, bass, and panfish. Winter trips move into a heated shack. The group can be a family, a first-time angler, or people who already know how to fish.
Jason has more than 20 years on these lakes, and Ashley is a licensed guide. Trips are insured. Muskies and trophy fish are catch, photo, release. A fish dinner can still be part of a Lake Tomahawk day.
Open-water trips
Open-water trips around Lake Tomahawk cover musky, walleye, northern pike, bass, crappie, perch, and panfish. A four-hour half day starts at $400. A six-hour trip starts at $500. A full eight-hour day starts at $575. The base price includes two anglers. On the four- and six-hour summer trips, up to two more anglers can be added for $50 each. Live bait, when the day calls for it, is purchased separately. Specialized musky gear, a larger winter group, or extra bait and setup can raise the price of a full day.
Ice fishing
Ice fishing around Lake Tomahawk is a heated-shack trip for walleye, northern pike, perch, crappie, bluegill, and other panfish. The plan follows the ice, the group size, and the bite. Winter pricing depends on the group and the setup. An eight-hour day is available in winter too, and a larger group or extra equipment can change the cost.
Custom days
Some groups want a different shape of day. Bachelor parties, river floats, and other custom trips around Lake Tomahawk are built around your people, your timing, and the water. A river float is the slower scenic option, in a canoe or a small john boat when the plan calls for it. Custom trips are priced by group size, duration, and the itinerary.
How a trip is booked
A deposit holds the date, and the balance is due at launch. Unsafe weather is rescheduled, not forced, and the guide makes that safety call. Trip prices do not include Wisconsin fishing licenses, so each person needs a valid license before the day starts. Rods, electronics, and tackle are on the boat, including St. Croix rods and FINS braid. Call (920) 213-9597 or email jason@heindlsfishtails.com and tell Jason you want Lake Tomahawk.
